The Health Rights Advocacy Forum (HERAF) is an non-governmental organization that brings together health professionals, NGOs, FBOs, and organisations of PLWHAs to advocate for health as a fundamental human right in Kenya.  It was established in 2006 as a project of Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC), with support from Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) USA, and registered as a non-governmental organization in Kenya by the NGO Coordination Board in 2007.

Introduction

HERAF exists to:

• Provide knowledge and information on health as a fundamental human right in Kenya
• Conduct evidence-based advocacy for reforms in health policies
• Promote health sector management and governance
• Promote an efficient health care financing system

Vision

• A Kenya where health is upheld and enjoyed as a fundamental human right

Mission

• To be a leading human rights organization that promotes and empowers Kenyans to realize the right to health for all

Goal

• To be a visible leading organization  in promoting, protecting and empowering Kenyans to enjoy the right to health at all times
