Staff

HERAF’s staff is multidisciplinary and comprises various cadres of social scientists including anthropologists, public health sociologists and lawyers experienced in HIV, health and human rights advocacy. The organization also has financial and accounting professionals who are responsible for the budgeting and financial reporting aspects of the organisation. HERAF staff also includes an office assistant who maintains the office and runs errands.

Edward Miano Munene,

Executive Director

A Social scientist by profess

ion with experience in HIV&AIDS, health and Human Rights programmes conceptualization, design, implementation and evaluation, Mr. Miano holds an MA in Anthropology and a BA in Anthropology, both from the University of Nairobi. He serves as the Secretary to the HERAF board of directors and has over 11 years’ experience in research, human rights, policy development and advocacy.

Beatrice Gachambi Theuri, Programmes Officer gachambi

With a bachelor of science degree in family and consumer sciences, Ms Gachambi has extensive experience in health related budgeting and capacity building, health and human rights programmes implementation, combined with a flexibility to effectively implement projects targeting the minority groups in society, the disabled, and female gender included.

Josephine Kinyanjui, Programme Assistant

A graduate Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology, Ms Kinyanjui brings to HERAF a wealth of experience in human rights, advocacy, programme implementation, social science research, community monitoring and social accountability, gender and development, HIV/AIDS, and Health Rights programme implementation.

Milkah Chege, Programmes Assistant

A graduate of the University of Nairobi, Ms Chege majored in political science. Her flexibility in implementing diverse projects such as capacity building, community monitoring, gender, HIV&AIDs programming to updating the HERAF website has been invaluable.

Erick Bosire, Programme Assistant

A graduate of Kenyatta University with a Bachelor of Science in environmental health Erick Bosire brings to HERAF a wealth of experience in public health, grassroots experience in community monitoring, research and HIV&AIDS programme implementation.

James Chege, Accountantchege

An accountant by profession experience who has experience working in both NGO & private sectors, James has an MBA in Finance (JKUAT), Bachelor of Commerce, Accounts, JKUAT and is a CPA (Part 2). His responsibilities entail ensuring that the overall accounts practices of the projects are consistent with the organisation’s and donor’s accounting policies and procedures.
